Ernest Tremblay
1944 – 2023
It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Ernest Tremblay, on July 27, 2023, in Edmonton, Alberta.
Ernest is survived by his children, Sherry Tremblay, Trudy McDonald, Mike Tremblay, Ernest Tremblay, Raymond Powder, Travis Stuart, Norma Grandjambe, and Martha Powder; brothers, Ron Tremblay, William Tremblay, and Arthur Tremblay; sister, Marlene Wall; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, extended family members and friends.
He was predeceased by his wife, Thecla Tremblay; mother, Isabell Cardinal; and father, Sylvester George Tremblay.
Ernest was a proud Metis man. He was an instrumental part of the community and a jack of all trades, working as a Coach, Fire Chief and Vice President of Metis Corp.
In Honour of Late Elder and Senator Ernest Tremblay
On Thursday, August 3rd, 2023, a procession will begin at 12:45 p.m., from Fort McMurray Funeral Home, 225-B MacDonald Crescent, to Fort McKay.
A Wake will be held on, Thursday August 3rd, 2023, starting at 2:00 p.m. through to 12:00 noon on Saturday, August 5th, 2023, at the Fort McKay Metis Community Office.
A Funeral Service will follow the Wake at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday August 5th, 2023 at the St Julien Church. Followed by the Community Procession.
Followed is a Luncheon at the Metis Office, weather permitting. In the event if it rains, the luncheon will be held at the Father Bégin Community Hall.
