I am very saddened to hear about your loss, I had a great privilege to care for him during his last week, he was a lovely man with a lovely family.
My love and condolences to you.
The loving care and attention Dennis received in the Fort McMurray hospital was phenomenal. Thank you to all the nursing staff and care givers.
Dennis, my old friend, my crazy, funny, fun friend. After more than 40 years since last we saw each other, I’m so sad to find you this way. Rick sent me a note and even he didn’t know too much but I guess it’s hard to escape first-ever roomies. Those were the best of times (and the worst) – as these things tend to be of course. Can you remember? Think: crazy college kids, foggy sandwiches, endless Pong, muggings, toilet tissue capers and much much more (too much fun to say here). Whoever allowed us to live on our own?! Then you went off to Fort Mac. Well, I can see from your photos and your smile, hints of that silly grin and odd sense of humour and I know you’ve enjoyed a good life. That’s good, you deserved it. I’m sad to hear of your illness but I suspect you bore it with grace, stoicism and a few dry jokes. To your family and friends, I send my deepest condolences for they have lost a good man and have sad times ahead. I’ll be thinking of you and remembering the good times – the beginning – even though you’ve reached the end of the road. Hugs to you my friend. Godspeed, Ira
Ira, thank you for the wonderful memories. Dennis always spoke fondly of his university days and the good friends. Dennis fought a good fight till the end. Thank you for your message.
Hello Ira
Thank you so much for the kind words that you said about Dennis.
I have heard many tales of you both when you were in university.
I was wondering if you were able to reach out to me so I could ask you a few questions about Dennis during those years. I am holding a celebration of life, and I would like to include some little stories and antidotes about your time together.
Thank you so very much. Kindest regards, Michelle.💕
I was always impressed with how Dennis conducted himself in his work. He was kind, calm, thorough and always fair. He was diligent in striving to discover and understand the truth. He cared about the people he worked with, the people that may have been impacted by a downgrading incident as well as the people that may have contributed to that incident. Dennis tried his best to understand both the details and the big picture so as to identify practical work condition and procedural improvements to promote a safer work environment and corporate success.
Dennis strove to learn, understand and implement sound investigation methods and to share what he learned with others. I really appreciated the many hours we spent together exploring general investigation principles, methods and tools as well as specific applications to cases at hand.
Dennis was an excellent team player. He was also a real gentleman that was admired and appreciated by many. It was my great privilege to have known and worked with him.
